The Creator

How was the Universe created? How is it sustained? How has life come into existence? What is the purpose of life? Is it all just an accident? These are some of the questions that humans have been asking for thousands of years and for most, the answers are clear. The evidence for the existence of a being that created the universe, our planet and all life on it is still undeniable in today’s apparent intellectually and technologically advanced world. We can start to realise this when when consider the complex intricacies of the universe, planets, solar systems, life organisms, eco systems, animals, humans - are all a mere freak accident? Any theory of the universe being an ‘accident’ lacks any evidence to substantiate it and is contradictary of science, not to mention rational thought. The evidence of a source that designed, created and continually sustains the universe is overwhelming and to most of planet Earth's population has been undeniable.

In a lethal universe, Earth is unique in its ability to support intelligent life. Cosmologists agree that the universe arose suddenly out of nothingness. But how? How did it unfold with such painstaking precision?

As biologists continue to probe the cell, the more amazed they are at its intricacies- complexities so staggering that they confound all naturalistic attempts to explain life’s origins.

In the Quran (the last revelation from the Creator), the Creator says (interpretation of the meaning):

“We created you, then why do you believe not?
Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit.
Is it you who create it (i.e., make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator?
We have decreed death unto you all, and We are not unable,
To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not.
And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e., the creation of Adam). Why then do you not remember or take heed?

Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground.
Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower?
Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment),
(Saying), ‘We are indeed Mughramoon (i.e., ruined, or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spent for cultivation, etc.)!
‘Nay, but we are deprived!’

Tell Me! The water that you drink,
Is it you who cause it from the rain clouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down?
If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable). Why then do you not give thanks (to Allaah)?

Tell Me! The fire which you kindle,
Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower?
We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travelers (and all others, in this world).
Therefore glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.
So I swear by mawaaqi’ (setting to the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse),
And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but knew,
That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Qur’aan).” [Quran 56:57-77]
